Every year we run a FREE summer reading program for children ages 2 - 18 in order to keep them reading during the summer months… for fun! We believe that it is very important for children to continue reading so that they don’t lose the skills they have worked so hard to gain during the school year. This summer, our theme will focus on water and oceans and will feature a variety of programs, prizes, and incentives that will correspond with this theme!

Don’t worry if your child is signed up for other summer programs (such as Project Focus or Summer Magic) or if you have extended vacation plans! You can still sign up for the library program and not worry about missing a thing!

All of your reading can be done from home and we work closely with Summer Magic to ensure that your children can attend many of our special program performances as well! We firmly believe that this is an important program for your child to participate in; come make a splash at your library by encouraging your child to read!  

 

Each week will bring lots of fun activities and programs. We have special performers coming in to entertain us with magic, puppetry, acting, and storytelling. John Ball Park Traveling Zoo will bring some exciting water-based creatures. We will enjoy craft days, movie afternoons, and a Pirate Party! Come play with our puppets during a special afternoon of puppet play and learn about sharks as our meeting room is transformed into an ocean! Bring your pup in for a fun Dog Wash and enjoy some sunshine and sprinklers while we clean your favorite pooch.
